#OSBlog-Old School Blogging {March}

I saw Elaine’s post last week that was inspired by bringing back old school blogging.

“Do you remember when we used to pass these things around and “tag” each other and then we would read and laugh and smile at each other’s answers? I do!” -Elaine from The Miss Elaine-ous Life

I remember, too!

When I started blogging I was always thrilled to get tagged in those old award streams. My dot blogspot sidebars were haphazardly filled with all the sweet bloggy goodies fellow bloggers sent me, and with each award we’d share 10 random things about ourselves, or tag other bloggers we love. Those awards used to make my day and put a smile on my face.

I love the community behind the blog world, and miss it sometimes. So often now, I’m worried about writing, scheduling, replying to emails, and trying to find my way in the world of turning my love for blogging into something bigger. Career seems like a strong word, but whatever this thing is that I do that I love so much and sometimes make a few bucks doing. Career? Probably not. A job that takes away from community sometimes, yes.

As much as a love blogging, I love all of you even more! You’re what makes this blogging journey so special. Without you, I wouldn’t have a blog!

This is such a fun way to get to know you better! So, I’m joining Elaine and about 30 other bloggers to bring back old school blogging! Won’t you join in?

What were you doing 10 years ago?

10 years ago, give or take a few months, I was getting ready to marry my best friend and the man who stood by my side during the hardest part of my life. I was on cloud nine. I worked full time as a Licensed Title Insurance Agent and I was crazy busy caught up in the highly demanding real estate market boom. I looked like this, and yes, I got married in those braces!

In March of 2003, we took our son on his first snowboarding trip.

It was also my fist time ever seeing snow!

Before I had braces, no make-up, and a zit. You’re welcome.

More importantly, look at my baby, who’s now 14.

He was the happiest kid in the world when he was with his mom and dad!

This is me and hubs in Mexico in the summer of 2003.

Then in October, I finally married the love of my life.

Leave some comments or even better, link up with Elaine and follow the women behind the idea, @elainea and @thetamom.

Somewhere along the way I picked up homeschooling two boys and blogging. When I'm not scrubbing toilets or answering endless questions, I'm usually here, over sharing it all! My writing is always honest, sometimes sarcastic, and never perfect. I hope to keep my kids from seeking adult therapy. I know. Pipe dreams...You can find me as @TheMommyMess on Twitter and on Facebook.
