We’re wrapping up our Listerine® 21 Day Challenge this weekend!
We’ve been brushing and rinsing and generally being mindful of our oral hygiene.
I have to admit, that I until I took the challenge, I was neglecting my own teeth far too often! It seems I put all my energy into nagging my kids to take care of their teeth that I am forgetting to take care of my own.
I never realized how late in the day it actually gets before I stop to make time for my own care.
With homeschool, we don’t have to rush out the door and make the car line every morning. Love!
While that has it’s advantages, it’s also cause for me drinking WAY too much coffee, and sleeping too late to take care of myself before the boys are up and ready to start school.
They’re great in the morning! Way better than mom!
I’ve realized that it’s usually noon before we’re at a point in our school day where I can take a shower, brush my teeth, and just get ready for the rest of the day. It wasn’t until I took the Listerine 21 Day Challenge that I realized, “Crap! I really need to brush my dang teeth!”
I’ve learned one major thing. It’s a commitment to take care of yourself.
Especially your teeth. It’s so easy to just let the kids barely brush, and skip the floss and mouthwash. But, it’s not the way to go. It only takes a few extra minutes a day to really do the job right. It’s not hard, it’s just habit. We all need to make the time to care of our bodies, our mouths, our minds, and anything else we need to be healthy!
Have you taken the Listerine® 21 Day Challenge yet? What have you learned from the challenge? What are your tips for keeping up with oral health care in your home? Listerine® wants to give you a jump start to a new approach to your oral care!

I have no tips since I have to nag my children to brush their teeth. I always make sure that we are all brushing at least twice a day. I suck at flossing. Adrienne, I wanted to tell you brushing or no brushing, you have a beautiful smile.

Brush, floss and use mouthwash. Use toothbrushes that have bristles that change colors to indicate they’ve worn out (a glaring reminder it’s time to buy a new brush).

Brush after dinner – not at bedtime. Once bedtime hits I’m far more likely to want to say, “just get in bed, we will deal with your teeth tomorrow” than want to have a fifteen minute process that pushes bedtime back later and later.
