Listerine® 21 Day Challenge

As a mom, I try to do a good job when it comes to taking care of my family’s teeth. The boys get regular dental check-ups and cleanings and they’re both up-to-date so far this year. Go me!

I have a small victory inside my head when the dentist says those two words that every mom hopes to hear, “No cavities!”. I’m like the teeth police here.

Did you brush?

Did you remember to floss?

Without my reminders, I’m pretty sure the boys would just let their teeth rot. My oldest is 14 and I still have to remind him to brush his teeth. He’s usually grateful for the reminder and doesn’t give me any trouble. My youngest likes to whine and complain about the process. This too shall pass. Even though my reminders are usually met with a little whining, I still try to be consistent  about teaching them to take care of themselves.

Sure, there’s always those nights I’m just too tired to remind everyone. Heck, there are nights I’m too tired to brush my own teeth! Even though I think we’re doing OK taking care of our teeth, it turns there’s a lot more we should be doing.

Did you know that brushing alone misses 75% of your mouth?

Gross.

Our current oral health care routine consists of regular brushing twice a day, flossing when I feel like fighting the kids about it, and rarely using any kind of mouthwash. Honestly? I’m usually happy if they just brush their teeth without giving me a hard time.

We’re taking the Listerine® 21 Day Challenge!

Over the next 21 days, our family will be participating in the Listerine® 21 Day Challenge! That means for 21 days, we will brush, floss, and rinse with mouthwash twice a day. I’m excited to see how this goes!

Did you know?

By using Listerine® Antiseptic mouthwash twice a day for 30 seconds, you can clean virtually 100 percent of your mouth? In fact, you would get…

*up to 5x healthier gums in 2 weeks!

*up to 9 times healthier gums in 4 weeks!

That’s a huge improvement in a short period of time.

The best part of taking the Listerine® 21 Day Challenge is that by participating in the event, we have the opportunity to help others. The good news? You can help too!

For every person who signs up for the challenge, the Listerine® Brand will make a contribution to help Oral Health America’s Smiles Across America® program toward their goal of connecting 210,000 children with needed oral health services in 2013.

Will you take the challenge too?

Somewhere along the way I picked up homeschooling two boys and blogging. When I'm not scrubbing toilets or answering endless questions, I'm usually here, over sharing it all! My writing is always honest, sometimes sarcastic, and never perfect. I hope to keep my kids from seeking adult therapy. I know. 1. We are crazy teeth brushers and flossers too! I actually carry floss and a mini toothbrush and toothpaste in my purse.
I never used to like Listerine. My husband had it on his side of the bathroom and I had Scope on mine but then they came out with more flavors and we now have more counter space finally. :-)
