We live in Florida. Rainy days are frequent here, even in December. Sometimes, my boys can get a little stir crazy and that makes mama crazy! Here’s a few ideas for your family’s next rainy day.
#1. Build a fort
Break out those sheets and get busy! Every kid loves a secret space and homemade forts are the best! My son loves to flip the recliner on its side, throw a sheet over the top and hang out inside.
#2 Play a Board Game
There’s a running joke in our family about board games. We seem to get a little competitive under the pressure of a good board game. I will never forget the day the four of us were playing Life. My husband was bossing my little one around about how he should spend his money, and my son let out a memorable quote, “Dad, let me live my fake life the way I want!!” I laughed so hard I almost peed my pants! Board games are a great break from the screen time and technology. It’s quality time with your kids they will remember forever.
#3 Create Something
One of my favorite things to do with my youngest is break out a bin of paints and watch him go to town! He’s an artist, ya know? Rainy days are the perfect time to get those paints, markers, and crayons out and get creative.
#4 Look for rainbows!
The best part of a rainy day is the treat that’s left behind! It doesn’t matter how old my boys gets, they are fascinated when we find a good rainbow!
And last but not least…
