The last few weeks of planning and trying to get focused on the school year has me in “goal mode”.
Organization is definitely at the top of my be-better-at-that-list. One of my biggest challenges is the age difference between my children. There are 6 years between the boys, and juggling their needs can be tricky. I have found that schooling in shifts works best for us, and I sat down today and created a daily schedule. I hope the work is not in vain and the boys find some structure to the day. I’m sure it’s not full-proof, but it will certainly give direction!
I will be sharing more about how I try to keep my sanity stay organized throughout the next couple of weeks, beginning Monday for #BTSBash. Not familiar with #BTSBash? Go HERE!
Daily Homeschool Schedule
You can download a FREE copy of this schedule, so enjoy!
Each child is color coded with their own task according to the time of day. Be sure to check out this post to read how I schedule our shifts.
Here’s a glimpse at where most of the magic happens.
I could not live without my giant magnetic whiteboard. It’s behind that pocket chart that comes down when I need it to. My new favorite thing? A giant magnetic sheet lined for handwriting from Learning Resources. Yes, please! It sticks right to the whiteboard and it really helps with shared writing lessons. The console table behind the dining room table is filled with all of my books and TEs. The bin on the top is filled with my youngest’s books (his new desk has not arrived yet), and the binders you see are my lesson plans for each child. I purchased some bulletin board borders at the dollar store just to give it a little something, and my little one keeps a backpack hanging on the back of his chair for whatever he needs. It’s supposed be for pencils and what not, but I’m sure it will only be a matter of days before it’s filled with toys. #homeschoolperks

I’m that awesome! I’m not sure if it’s organization or a serious case of OCD, either way, I hope it goes well!

I am so wowed by your organization. My kids are still too young for school, but I often wondered how it would actually work, so thanks for giving us an “inside” look!

Don’t let me fool you. This will only look like this for week.
I am also in that goal mode…hopefully, it lasts longer than the first week of school!
Thanks for stopping by at Counting God’s Little Blessings! Wishing you the best with your school year!

Oh, girl! Me too!! Haha!!!
I am so impressed. You make this look so easy. I have told you before and I mean it…I am jealous and a little sad that I wasn’t called to do this. Sometimes I think I would have been really good with my teaching background and then reality sets in and I know why I don’t have the calling. It looks like you are going to have a fabulous year!

Of course you would be great at it! We all have different callings. If you had told me this was mine 5/6 years ago I would have laughed out loud.
