Can’t you just tell by the title of this post that you can expect it to be filled with quality content?
Yeah, I didn’t think so.
It’s Thursday. I have nothing of value to say.
Does that mean I should continue to leave my dusty post from Monday up or post something new? I just never know the answers to deep questions like this…
Since I’m not usually home on a Thursday, I never get to join Mama Kat. But, today I could. Our school activities are over for the year, and every Thursday until August, I will be here. So, why not start this first Thursday of summer linking up with Writer’s Workshop?
This is a great idea! Mainly because in one of the prompts I get to pretend I’m someone else.
Sold!
Prompt #4:
If you had to choose a Disney princess to live the rest of your life as…which princess would you choose and why?
Oh fun!
First, I decided I needed to see my choices.
Ok, I had no idea that some of these chics were part of the Disney Princess line up. How do I pick just one?
Let’s weigh the options…
Snow White-she’s getting too much attention right now, anyway. For that reason alone, I am moving on.
Pocohontas-Been there, done that. Really. I was Pocahontas in High School and then again for Halloween about 5 years ago. So, I pass.
Belle-Possibly…but she has to deal with that Gaston guy, and I can’t stand the sounds of his voice.
“I’m Gaston. I’m big and loud and blah, blah, blah…”
I don’t think I can deal with him.
Cinderella-Well, the only thing about Cinderella is her life is too much like mine already. Cooking, cleaning, evil step sisters are sort of like kids, so…I’m thinking no.
Rapunzel-Her hair is super cool! I might just pick her for that alone.
Tiana-I have never seen the Princess and the Frog. I know nothing about Tiana. I might pick her just for that, but I hate frogs, so…
Sleeping Beauty-Hello! She gets to sleep. She’s in my top 3 for sure!
Jasmine-She’s all exotic and hot and stuff, so that’s cool. Three things I am not. But, Aladdin is not my cup of tea. He’s sort of a little pee-wee of a man.
Ariel-She’s a mermaid, and that’s awesome. Top 3. Do I have more than three Top 3?
Mulan-She kicks butt! She’s all like a role model, and blows these girly girls out of the water with her badass-ness.
So, Sleeping Beauty or Mulan?
Sleep or kick someone’s ass today?
Hypnotic coma or use a sword to kill somebody?
Which is more therapeutic?
It’s tough, but…
Kicking ass sounds way cool!
I pick Mulan!
She has a sword and a horse and stuff and that’s awesome!
“Hua Mulan is a legendary figure from ancient China who was originally described in a Chinese poem known as the Ballad of Mulan (木蘭辭). In the poem, Hua Mulan takes her aged father’s place in the army. She fought for 12 years and gained high merit, but she refused any reward and retired to her hometown instead.” ~Wikipedia
Now, I’m off to check on my life insurance policy. Yeah, I know. Would Mulan feel like she needed one of those? Probably not.
But, after talking to my friend, Ann Marie, on twitter this morning, I have mega anxiety over the fact that this policy is just not enough money. I mean, we have a nice policy for hubs, but what the heck? My policy is crap. What the hell with my husband and kids do if I die today?
Visions of public school, babysitters, and Ramen noodles are making Xanax and coffee sounds like the breakfast of champions today.
My husband would have to keep working, the kids would have to go through a mega life change, and let’s face it my son’s OCD, doesn’t really mesh well with dealth and change. I need a fat policy, ya’ll!
So hubs can stay home with them until things calm down, and they can keep things as close to normal as possible. The less change the better, until they can figure out what they are going to do without me. I don’t want the kids to feel like they lost their mom, and everything else sucks too.
See? this is what happens inside my brain. I’m positive it’s not normal.
After I get done checking into a new policy, I will see about talking to a therapist about my need to do this today.
Happy Thursday, ya’ll!

I love your summary of each of the Princesses. I think that my choice of Princess would definitely depend on the day. Today, it would be Sleeping Beauty. That’s what happens when my 8 month old decided its time to be awake for the day at 5 am. I do not agree!

I’d have picked Mulan too!

First of all, I am loving that I got a shout out on your blog! That made my whole day which was kind of crappy until this point (I’ll email you but I’m working on a post about it and it involves the police). Second, I feel bad that I have sent your head in a tailspin. Maybe we should stick to our secret fears being that all of the wine in the world drying up.
Third, I’m going with Sleeping Beauty that way I can sleep through the teen years and wake up to Prince Phillip who I always thought was the hottest prince.

good run down of the Princesses….after reading your post i realize my Princess must not be a Disney princess.. as far as the whole section dealing with life insurance and your thoughts about what happens if you die today? well, I’m glad to hear that I’m not the only one whose mind goes down these paths sometimes
our thoughts are a close match in this area.
hi from mk’s
Go ass kicker, go!
I think I’m an Ariel girl, myself.

Oh you crack me up! I love that my mind is not the only one that wonders and the more I think about something the more freaked out I become!
Good call on Mulan’s badassness and she is a great role model. I’d have to go with Cinderella, she’s my fav!!! I love how she is so cheery despite the fact that she got the crap end of the stick.
You totally need to see Princess and the Frog. It’s such a good back to the good ol’ Disney movies type of movie. Don’t get me wrong I love the Disney/Pixar, but sometimes you need a song and are musical-esk . . . Ok now my Disney dork side is coming out. I just need to stop at this one!

I’m gonna have to get that movie. Maybe my niece has it? My mind plays tricks on me all the time. It’s kind of a problem. LOL
I love how you rated every princess before picking one! So funny. I have to agree with you on the Mulan ass kicking awesomness thing, though Belle would be a close second for me because she loves to read books and is one of the more intellectual princesses. I could zone out Gaston’s voice if I’m reading a really good book, lol.
Good luck on figuring out your policy!

That’s true! Belle does a great job tuning him out.
I give your princess pick two thumbs up! I’m with you on the life insurance thing. My policy isn’t much at all. Sigh.

Your mind works frighteningly like mine. Thanks for the giggles, honesty, and affirmation. It’s great not to have to live in my stream of consciousness alone:)
